It's with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the launch of our newly funded project in the Maritime industry! Following the successful completion of our EU funded Proof of Concept project, regarding our innovative liner wear measurement 3D scanning device, the new ENTERPRISES EU funded project would take our innovative tool to the next level.
With a budget well above a quarter of a million and an amalgamation of outstanding technical, scientific and business experts and stakeholders, we aim to empower R&D and innovation in the making.
The project will take place in the next 18 months and follow a structured scientific and technical development process in order to apply experimental and industrial R&D towards the development of our innovative 3D liner wear measurement tool for the 2 stroke engine cylinders of ships.
The final product will provide quick, precise and innovative data of the inside of the 2 stroke engines' cylinders regarding wear and ovality; while providing outstanding visualization in 3D format.
Ultimately, the developed tool will enter the preventive line of service tools used in ships in order to prevent unwanted costs that can derive from wear inside the cylinder.
The project is co-financed by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under the framework of the Operational "THALIA" Program 2021-2027 under Priority 1: "Competitive, Smart and Digital Economy "and the Specific Objective (1i):" Development and strengthening of capacity for research and innovation and the adoption of prior technologies ". The budget is distributed by the Research Innovation Foundation of Cyprus under the program "Restart 2016-2020" regarding Research, Technological Development and Innovation.
